Cyclist breaks knee in crash

A 57-year-old Devonshire man was taken to hospital with a broken knee after a three-vehicle crash.

The motorcyclist was travelling north on Brighton Hill Road in Devonshire at about 6.15 p.m. on Tuesday when his bike collided with a truck at the junction with Watlington Road East.

Police said the impact of the bike hitting the front of the truck caused it to collide with a car which had stopped at the junction. The drivers of the truck and car were not injured but all three vehicles were moderately damaged.

Earlier in the day, a 56-year-old Warwick man was taken to hospital with knee abrasions after an accident on Front Street in Hamilton.

The motorcyclist was overtaking stationary vehicles in the eastbound lane at about 12.25 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a car leaving a nearby car park.

The rider was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, treated and released. The car driver, a 37-year-old Sandys woman, was not injured. Both vehicles suffered minor damage.

Both accidents are being investigated and anyone with information should call Police on 295-0011.
