Drunk driver taken off road

Crown counsel Wayne Caines told the court that on March 30 David E. Tweed, 45, was stopped for a minor traffic offence.
Police noticed that Tweed, of Longridge Pass, Devonshire, smelled strongly of intoxicants and was not speaking clearly.
When asked if he'd been drinking, Tweed replied that he'd had a couple of beers.
Tweed agreed to provide a sample for breath analysis. The lowest reading on his sample showed that he had 194 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Tweed apologised to the court. "I'm just sorry it happened like that,'' he said.
Mr. King fined Tweed $750 and disqualified him from all vehicles for 12 months.

Norman Sonny Bell, 39, is currently serving four and five year concurrent sentences for break-ins and thefts at Fantasea Diving and the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.
Yesterday he elected summary trial in Magistrates' Court but denied stealing the money from Sampson's Tailoring.
Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King set a June 5 trial date and offered Bell bail at $750.
"I don't want any bail. I'm doing fine where I am,'' replied Bell.
