Bermuda Islands contest: Miss Sonja Baptiste, Miss Warwick Central, is 20, and hopes to be a social worker. After Bermuda, her favourite spot is Hawaii.

Miss Libby Cook, 23, is Miss Paget. Her favourite place to visit is New Zealand, following a trip there to see her 103 year-old grandmother.

Miss Alexandria Dowling is representing Hamilton. The 20-year-old is interested in fitness and beauty, and, if she wins, would "use the money to help my parents pay off their mortgage''.

Miss Takiyah Evans, Miss St. George's, is a 19-year-old sports enthusiast who hopes to use her Psychology training to become a Probation Officer.

Miss Michelle Fray, 24, would like one day to open her own fashion house. She is Miss Warwick West.

Miss Southampton Kellie Hall, 22, is headed for graduate school, where she will work towards a career in sex therapy. Antigua is her favourite destination.

Miss Cheryl-Jean Harris, Miss Pembroke, will attend Berkeley College in New York. The 22-year-old wants to follow her father into the local sign-painting business.

Miss Jameka Paynter, Miss Warwick, is 19. Atlanta is her favourite city, and she hopes to become an accountant.

Miss Amanda Petty has her heart set on becoming an actress. The 22-year-old, who is representing Sandys South, has been training to that end in London.

Miss Koshea Scott, at 18 the youngest entrant, wants to be a broadcast journalist when she graduates from college. She loves Paris, and is representing Warwick East.

Miss Marcia Vanderpool wants to set up an architectural practice when she finishes her training. The 23-year-old is Miss Pembroke East.

Miss Ingrid Welch, 21, is Miss Smith's, and has been studying theatre. Her mother is Icelandic, now living in Bermuda, "two islands,'' she notes, "of extremes''.

Miss Shanika Woods has set her sights on being a lawyer, specialising in international law. The 22 year-old represents Sandys Parish.
