Bermudians promoted at HWP

Two Bermudians have been promoted to positions in HWP?s cycle division ? Danny Johnson to service coordinator and Lorin Rubaine to cycle foreman.

Mr. Johnson joined HWP in 1999 as an apprentice through the National Training Board?s apprenticeship programme, becoming lead A1 technician in the cycle division.

In his new role, Mr. Johnson manages the daily activity of the cycle service department and handles all aspects of customer service and client communication. Mr. Johnson used to work in an automotive and cycle restoration shop in Florida and recently earned a Certificate in General Management from the American Management Association.

Mr. Rubaine has worked for HWP since 1994, first gaining experience as an apprentice through the National Training Board and then becoming an A1 Technician in the cycle division. As cycle foreman, Mr. Rubaine is responsible for supervising the cycle workshop, leading staff training and handling customer relations.

He is also a recent graduate of the American Management Association where he earned a Certificate in General Management.

Jonathan Brewin, HWP president and CEO, said: ?I am delighted to be announcing these appointments.

?One of our corporate goals at HWP is to hire talented and highly skilled professionals who share our vision for excellent customer service.?

Harry Andrews, vice president of HWP?s Cycle Division, added: ?Given the shortage of qualified cycle technicians in Bermuda, it is very rewarding to see Danny and Lorin progress into more senior positions at HWP through their hard work and dedication. I encourage other young Bermudians to follow their example.?
