Islanders score a perfect 10!

St. David's bounced back from their loss to Hamilton Parish last weekend to register the biggest win in yesterday's first round of the FA Cup.

The Islanders never looked back after goals from Worrell Bean and Shane Weeks in the fourth and 17th minutes enabled them to take early control.

Four more came before the half by which time the match was over as a contest.

Rudell Pitcher scored the third in the 24th minute and Chae Simmons opened his account with strikes in the 26th and 28th minutes. Sammy Robinson netted the sixth in the 32nd.

Simmons completed his hat-trick six minutes into the second half before Reginald Smith opened his account from the penalty spot in the 56th.

Weeks and Bean both scored their second goals in the 67th and 82nd minutes respectively, with Eagles' lone strike coming inbetween in the 77th through Frank Smith who prevented the shutout.

Robin Hood 0 Prospect 3 Jerry Laws netted twice and Carl Gibbons once as Prospect pegged back Robin Hood at White Hill Field.

The Commercial League team held their own in the first 15 minutes when the game was played mostly in the Prospect half. But a 21st minute opener by Laws put Prospect on top. Laws beat stand-in goalkeeper Dan Miller with a shot from 20 yards that was partially smothered before rolling over the line.

Hood's best chance in the half fell to Andy Robinson when he drove a shot inches over the top from 25 yards.

Robinson's loss to a knee injury three minutes later -- after a collision with Prospect 'keeper Kuhn Evans -- hurt Hood who went further behind in the 40th minute when Laws broke free and beat Miller with a low shot.

Gibbons put the match out of reach with the third goal in the 64th minute when he fired home as the Hood players appealed for offside.

Ireland Rangers 1 Paget 4 Paget continued their good run, beating Rangers with two goals in each half at White Hill Field.

Mike Eberly in the Rangers goal was beaten by two long range shots, the first from Marlon Williams which caught him off the line in the 17th minute as Paget took the lead against the run of play.

Eberly was beaten again in the 34th minute when Dean Ming met Dale Russell's inswinging corner and glanced a header into the far bottom corner.

Williams went off injured just before the half when Eberly caught him in the chest with a boot after the pair went for a loose ball on the edge of the box.

Rangers fought back to 2-1 in the 65th minute when Troy Berkeley scored after Michael Bremar's shot was blocked. But in the space of six minutes Rangers saw their hopes of a fightback dashed when Paget scored twice. An own goal by Sean Symonds in the 70th minute made it 3-1 and a minute later Troy (Blacker) Burgess found the net with a long range shot from deep on the left side which dipped under the bar.

YMSC 0 Wolves 8 Wolves got a taste of the FA Cup last year and appear just as hungry this year.

Easily the top team in the Second Division, Wolves erupted for six second-half goals en route to victory at PHC Stadium. Wolves, who lost in the final of last year's Cup, have scored 15 goals in four league matches.

John Barry Nusum did most of the damage by firing a second-half hat trick.

Nirobi Smith and Ricardo Nesbitt each had two goals and Shannon Berkeley the other.

How bad a day was it for YMSC? Striker Dasai Jones saw his penalty saved by Wolves 'keeper Jermey Fray in the 39th minute and when Fray was ruled to have moved prematurely, Jones was given another chance -- only to be stopped again.

Social Club never came close again.

Meanwhile, Nusum, shedding tackles like an NFL running back, scored goals in the 63rd and 65th minutes, both on clear breakaways. His third came three minutes from the end when he was sent through alone by Berkeley, hit the post, slipped to the ground, got back up and tapped in the rebound before Pontes could reach it.

Both of Nesbitt's goals were gifts from Pontes, including the final one in injury time.

H.Parish 5 BAA W'derers 1 A convincing second-half performance by Hamilton Parish, ignited by a lively half-time pep talk from coach David Furbert, saw the Second Division side run out easy winners at Wellington Oval yesterday.

Although they held a territorial edge in the first half, Parish had little to show for their efforts as they were tied 1-1 with their hard-running Commercial Division opponents.

Both first-half goals came via the penalty spot, Shawn Dill putting Parish ahead with his spot kick after 36 minutes and Kevin Hanson equalising from the spot after 43 minutes.

Angry over his team's failure to take control, Furbert admonished his players during the break and it brought out the best of them as they pushed powerfully forward in the second half.

They took a 2-1 lead through Corey Hill after 65 minutes and stretched it to 3-1 after 70 minutes when Hill scored his second.

Although centre-backs Frankie Brewster and Darren Hope played well for BAA, Wanderers could find no answer as Parish attacked relentlessly.

And it was no surprise when additional goals came from midfielder Leon Raynor after 75 minutes and substitute Shawn Knights five minutes from the end.

St.George's 2 Forties 0 Two goals in the second half by Kyle Tannock and William Pitt saw Second Division St. George's get by their Commercial Division opponents at Wellington Oval.

Tannock got the first after 48 minutes when he scored from a sharp angle on the left -- a shot that goalkeeper Prospero Russo might have stopped.

And four minutes later hard-working striker William Pitt got the second when he scored after slipping through on a breakaway.

Pitt had put two efforts wide from outside the box for the home side while Forties had the best chance of the first half when midfielder Kent Bascome saw goalkeeper John Durrant advance to block his shot from just 12 yards.
