Bank of Bda fixes e-mail problems
was introduced, according to Microsoft Exchange Server.
On the Exchange Server's website, the Bank of Bermuda is used as a case study to prove how their system can improve service.
According to Exchange Server, the bank was experiencing problems with their e-mails, such as lost messages and delays in messages being sent -- problems that were costing the bank money.
The website said the problems occurred because the Microsoft Mail system was being used with both Macintoshes and PCs. But the problem was solved when the company changed its system to Microsoft Exchange Server.
The website states: "The Bank of Bermuda has 2,500 employees spread out among 15 countries.
"The Bank was experiencing problems running Microsoft Mail in a mixed environment of Macintosh and PCs, including: lost messages, slow delivery times, and an environment that was expensive to support.'' The website says the Bank evaluated Novell GroupWise, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Exchange Server as options to solve the problem.
"They chose Exchange Server due to superior security, performance, and integration with their desktop environment. Having adopted Exchange, the Bank of Bermuda succeeded in eliminating the problems they were previously experiencing and are observing increased end user productivity, increased reliability, and the ability to centrally manage their messaging environment.''
