A knife-brandishing teenager took a tourist?s wallet and told him: ?Enjoy yourself in Bermuda.?
The incident occurred on Lighthouse Road, Southampton, Magistrates? Court heard.
Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney told how 17-year-old Adrian Whitecross, of Railway Trail, Southampton approached Juan Sebastian at 3.30 p.m. on January 11 of this year.
Whitecross pulled out a knife, held it to the man?s abdomen and demanded his money. The complainant gave Whitecross his wallet which contained $40.
Fifteen minutes after the first robbery, a German tourist was playing golf at the 15th hole of the Fairmont Southampton Princess when Whitecross ran across the green and held a knife to his neck and demanded his wallet. The man complied and gave Whitecross his wallet which contained his German identity card, 100 Euros and $52 US.
The Police were called, they arrested Whitecross and in the interview he admitted to both robberies and having a bladed weapon.
Whitecross pleaded guilty to all three charges in court while also appearing with Joshua Boorman,16, of Middle Road, Southampton to answer to six unrelated charges of robbery that occurred between January 3 and January 10 of this year
However, Boorman pleaded guilty to only two burglaries which occurred on January 3 and January 10 at 18 Rebecca Road, Southampton and 56 Spice Hill Road, Southampton respectively.
He stole goods worth a total of $11,196 which included five cameras, a DVD player, an Oris Watch, a Blackberry phone, a laptop, a flat screen television, two pairs of earrings, a gold chain, a pendant, Ipod mini, a camcorder and $13 in cash.
Whitecross pleaded guilty to only three burglaries. He was responsible for two on January 8 at 15 Gibbs Hill Road and 13 Gibbs Hill Road and one on January 10 at 18 Shawn Acres Lane.
The stolen goods were worth over $16,000 and included jewellery, a motorcycle, two Ipods, clothing, two laptops, two cameras, two pairs of sneakers, and $1,000 in cash.
Both Boorman and Whitecross pleaded not guilty the burglary of 12 Gibbs Hill Road on January 4.
Defence lawyer Shade Subair said: ?I ask that a social inquiry report be ordered because the offences, while serious were not as serious as they could have been.
?The offences occurred in the day, the complainants were not home and they admitted to the Police.?
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said: ?I want to send both to Westgate. They targeted tourist areas. The people come to spend money and they steal the money with knives.?
Mr. Warner ordered social inquiry reports on Boorman and Whitecross and remanded both in custody until sentencing on March 14.
