Bermuda is fast becoming the number one destination for US bosses -- to thank their employees.

As Bermuda Tourism staff in the US work hard on building up corporate business, two firms have already earmarked the Island as a top spot for their company outings.

On Monday, 1,260 furniture store staff will receive a $1 million bonus on Bermuda's Clearwater Beach -- bringing tourism a huge US advertising boost in the process.

The idea came from Jordan's Furniture bosses Elliott and Barry Tatelman, who decided to give their staff a day out to remember forever.

Next Monday, Jordan's Furniture will close its four Boston area stores as four specially chartered planes bring their entire company to the Island for a works outing to top all.

And next month US holiday firm TNT Vacations is aiming to bring its workers down to the Island as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.

On June 8, 360 TNT staff will fly in for a massive one-day party on Elbow Beach.

In the TNT party will be former Bermuda resident Holly Powers, who was charged with organising the Jordan's party of the century -- which is expected to to bring an estimated $500,000 of business to the Island.

And she said, there is a double bonus for the Island, as the company is to film its latest commercial at the party -- destined to hit US TV screens all summer.

"It is amazing,'' said Ms Powers. "They are so generous to their employees.

And they decided to send them here over Nassau in the Bahamas and Williamsburg.

"It all started out last November. They said they would like to do something new. They are doing this to say thank you to their employees for working hard.'' The trip to Bermuda was a complete shock to the Jordan's Furniture workers.

The two brother bosses made a radio broadcast on a Massachusetts station. And as the workers heard the news, they in turn were filmed by a local news crew.

On Monday, four charter aircraft will arrive in the morning, where a fleet of buses and taxis will take the staff to Clearwater.

There a mini-village will be created, with tents, showers, toilets, games and food for a whole day of entertainment.

Local officials and the St. George's Town Crier will welcome the party, and the Bermuda Strollers will play, followed by a Nashville band, Steve Jarrell and the Sons of the Beach.

And while the party rages, a sandcastle builder brought in from the US will create a sofa and Jordan's logo on the beach for the TV commercial, which will air in the Massachusetts area in the coming months.

At the end of the day the aircraft will ferry them all home again.
