Police make several arrests in past week
Police received reports of 15 road accidents resulting in injury between December 7-14.
In addition, seven motorists were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and there were 28 accidents resulting in damage to vehicles.
Seven motorcycles were stolen, one of which has since been recovered.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "We continue to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the Island's roads.
"Additionally, we urge those travelling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children travelling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those travelling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane."
¦ A woman is in hospital with facial and internal injuries from a car crash in St. George's yesterday.
The accident took place at 2.50 a.m. in St. David's Road near the Swing Bridge roundabout.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however, both vehicles were extensively damaged as a result."
The 23-year-old woman, from Hamilton Parish, was last night described as "stable" by a King Edward VII Hospital spokeswoman.
The driver of the other car, a 34-year-old Warwick man, received cuts to his head, hand and right leg but was discharged.
Police inquiries are continuing.
¦ High visibility patrols made 27 arrests in the central parishes between December 7-13.
The Police Support Unit targeted trouble spots in Glebe Road, St. Monica's Road, Court Street, Parsons Road, Middletown, at Devonshire Recreation Club and at the Mid Atlantic Boat Club.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "There were 27 arrests made by the Police Support Unit mostly for outstanding warrants, drugs and assault offences."
Police also carried out 145 stop and searches around the City of Hamilton. This resulted in 26 tickets issued for driving without a seatbelt, a licence or with no insurance, or disobeying traffic signs.
