nightclub owners over the past several years. But businessmen Rick Olsen , owner of The Beach, and Kevin Burrows are hoping to reverse that streak by reminding people of the golden days when the nightclub was fondly known by patrons as "Forty''.
They have named their new night spot Club 40 and plan to open in just over a month's time with an all new look, which they hope will attract a mature crowd, or, all those Forty Thieves Club and Disco 40 patrons who've been staying in too much of late.
"We got an excellent deal on the premises and we feel there's definitely the market out there for a different nightclub venue that is perhaps larger than the Club and offers something for the more mature crowd,'' Mr. Olsen said.
"We plan to maintain high dress code and service standards and the music we play will be 70s, 80s and top 40 stuff, none of that new reggae or techno music. We want to remind people of the golden days back when it was Forty.'' Hours will be 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. with an earlier happy hour on Fridays. Mr.
