November 14

Bermuda School of Music Faculty Lunchtime concert featuring works for organ, violin, piano and guitar, Wesley Methodist Church, Church Street, 12 noon. Participating musicians: Louise Southwood (guitar), Li You (piano), Jennifer Sheridan (violin), Oliver Grant (piano), Ryan Ellis and Lloyd Matthew (organ). All welcome. Admission free, but donations welcomed.

Come Celebrate World Diabetes Day at 7.30 am at the Botanical Gardens. British health expert Jane Deville-Almond will be on hand to give an inspirational and educational talk while participants enjoy a post-walk breakfast. Pre-registration required. Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation Family day: Boxes, gift tags and wrapping paper classes. (1) Create funky boxes/templates for boxes/envelopes (ages 5-12) 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. (2) Brown Paper Packages tied up with string (all ages), 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. (3) Signed with love — gift tags/cards (all ages) 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Cost: $10 per student/family. Bermuda Boys' Brigade 125th Anniversary Dinner at 6.30 p.m. at Peter Evans Hall, St. Paul's Church, Paget. $15 for adults and $10 for children (the Bermuda Boys' Brigade is subsidising the cost of this dinner). Please contact David Semos on 334-9349 for tickets.

The Walking Club of Bermuda meets every Sunday at 7 am and the group walks for six to seven miles. These walks are free and all are welcome. There are also cut-off points for those who do not want to walk the full distance. Meet in the parking lot at each location at 7 a.m. for a 7.10 a.m. start. This week the walk takes place at Botanical Gardens Visitor's Centre, Paget. BAC Kool Running 5K Race. Sanctioned by BFTA. Start time 9 a.m. for runners and 9.05 for walkers. Race departs from BAC on Mills Creek Road. $25 per entry. $20 for MAAC members and $10 for juniors under 18. Registration forms available at Sportseller. Denise Trew, will be hosting a Tea, Fashion and Hat Show from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to be held at the Gazebo, Hamilton Princess featuring hats and fashions from her All About Eve Boutique and The Bermuda at Lady Millinery Shop. Both shops are located in St. George's and owned/managed by Denise B. Trew, known as the Hat Lady.
