Suspicious death Police are treating the death of a man as suspicious and are waiting for a Coroner's report to determine the cause of death.
Police on Tuesday responded to a report of a medical emergency at a Market Lane, Pembroke residence but arrived at 8 p.m. to find an ambulance had already transported the 48-year-old Pembroke man to KEMH, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The dead man was later confirmed by Police to be Adsol Eugene Dawson.
ACTING PRINCIPAL APP Acting principal Shawnette Olney Somner has been appointed acting principal of Port Royal Primary School, a Government spokesman reported yesterday.
Mrs. Somner, a teacher in the public education system for 16 years, will fill in for principal Marguerite Fields who is taking a year's leave of absence.
She was educated at Gilbert Institute, Warwick Academy, North Carolina A&T State University and at Miami University and holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees.
Mrs. Somner has taught at the elementary, middle and secondary levels, is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc and the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Association and is the author of the poetry collection Visions.
BUSY POLICE CRM Busy Police A thief allegedly entered Leslie Wilson's Bike Shop on Union Street in Pembroke overnight Monday, and stole some crash helmets.
The culprit used force to gain entry into the building, and once inside searched through an office before removing the Cyber brand helmets.
A Harbour Road, Paget resident reported that a thief removed a white windsurfer and a wooden paddle from his property.
The culprit allegedly removed the windsurfer from the dock, and broke into a shed to obtain the paddle.
Police attended a Cameron Close apartment in Smith's after a reported break-in overnight Saturday.
The female occupant was away and could not ascertain whether or not anything was stolen from the apartment, but her car had allegedly been searched and several compact discs stolen.
