The firemen got by bottom team Mariners with goals from Wendell Simmons, Theron Smith and Steven Caines to send their opponents crashing to their third straight league loss.

Fire Service were able to gain some breathing space on North Village Rams who lost second place when they were edged 2-1 by Robin Hood. Alex McLaughlin and Andy Robinson scored for Hood and Kenny Thompson for Rams.

The defeat, the first for Rams, dropped them to sixth place as a four-way tie for second place developed.

Island Rangers took over second place on goal difference with a 6-1 thrashing of St. George's All-Stars who are still seeking their first win after three matches.

Keith Bremar led Rangers' scoring with two goals while Troy Berkeley, Wendell Anderson, Blaine Outerbridge and a Kenny Cann own goal accounted for the rest.

Sinclair Smith netted the lone All-Stars goal.

League champions BAA Wanderers also won by five goals, hammering MR Onions 5-0. Duncan Ashworth, Vince Chaves, Steve Irvine, Stuart Drake and Arthur Reilly netted for the Wanderers who moved two places up the standings.

Lobster Pot beat Spinning Wheel 2-0 in the other match.

Prison Officers kept their grip on top spot in Group B with a 3-1 win over second-from-bottom Valley as D.Leader netted twice and Conrad Lister got the other. Kevin Isaac replied for Valley.

Forties remained in second place and Wolves Pack third after their victories.

Forties beat Belco 2-0 on goals from Derek Scott and Myron Smith (own goal) while Wolves edged by Bermuda Pest Control 3-2.

Kurt Douglas, Daniel Stovell and Kacy Burgess scored for Wolves and K.Francis and A. Francis for Pest Control.

Somerset Extros were the big winners of the day, blasting last-placed Exiles 11-0 as Stevie Riley and Everett Wellman both hit hat-tricks. Craig Brangman and Kevin Bailey both scored twice while Josef Gooden got the other for the Extros who doubled their goal tally to 22.
