My Portfolio: Jon Heckscher

Jon Heckscher, LOM senior fund manager.

My Portfolio: Jon Heckscher is a vice-president and senior fund manager with Lines Overseas Management (LOM).

How do you invest? Usually slow and steady, in a mix of Equity and Fixed Income Mutual Funds. Occasionally I will invest in specific stocks and bonds.

What and when was your first ever investment? A 1969 Mustang Convertible was my first substantial investment. My first investment (in the true sense of the word) was in MBNA (NYSE: KRB).

Do you do your own investing?

Yes

What was the best (most successful) investment you ever made? MBNA (NYSE: KRB) It still represents a significant portion of my portfolio.

What was the worst (least successful) investment you ever made? Global Crossing (OTC: GBLXQ) at $15. It now trades at $0.014; need I say more?

What was the longest investment you ever made? MBNA (NYSE: KRB)

What was the shortest investment you ever made? E*Trade (NYSE: ET). I day traded the stock when it was in its infancy (1996/1997).

Most memorable investing moment? Being a fund manager, investments I make for my clients are usually much larger (financially) than those I make in my own portfolio - I think this is why these are more memorable.

Biggest missed opportunity? The Internet Bubble. Throughout the late 1990s I only dabbled in this sector.

What would you never invest in? Internet Mutual Funds
