an agreement between Government and union negotiators.

Officials from Government and the Bermuda Public Services Association signed their collective agreement for 1993 to 1995, which covers salaries and conditions of employment.

"Although there was some tough bargaining throughout the negotiations, I believe both sides benefitted from having a strong and highly professional working relationship,'' said a "delighted'' Mr. Malcolm Gregory, Government's director of personnel services.

BPSA general secretary Mr. Eugene Blakeney agreed bargaining had been tough.

But the final outcome was acceptable, he said, given the state of the economy.

Workers on public service scale three to 16 will get 2.75 percent in the first year and 2.25 percent in the second.

Those on scale 17 and over will get 2.6 percent in the first year and 2.4 percent in the second.

The agreement runs until September 30, 1995.
