refusal to hear evidence over the job losses of 15 workers at Bermuda Forwarders.

Labour Minister the Hon. Irving Pearman said he had read the letter, but not studied it.

"I am not prepared to make any public comment until I have studied it,'' he said last night.

Mr. Pearman said legal advice from the Attorney General's chambers may be sought over the letter.

The Bermuda Industrial Union wants Government to appeal the decision of the Trade Dispute Tribunal.

The tribunal said it was bound by a Supreme Court declaration that the 15 workers breached their contracts when they went on strike last year without notice.

And the tribunal ruled the men, therefore, should not be compensated or reinstated.

But BIU president Mr. Ottiwell Simmons slammed the decision, branding it unacceptable.

There could be no justice unless there was a hearing into the men's grievances, he said.
