Nursery praised
in road safety.
Transport Minister Ewart Brown praised the company's work during a presentation at the Transport Control Department yesterday.
Road Safety Officer Roxanne Christopher outlined how the ACE Nursery & Preschool vehicle had been fully outfitted with child safety seats and booster seats to ensure the safety of the children being transported.
She called for all such vehicles to be modified in a similar manner and stressed that the safety of children should be paramount.
Dr. Brown added that there was no finer example of good corporate citizenship than this.
He said: "ACE has taken the lead to ensure the safety of children.'' He added he hoped that the entire community would take note and follow their lead instead of waiting for Government to introduce legislation covering such matters.
The presentation then took place with Pandora Wright, vice president of Human Resources, accepting the Certificate of Recognition on behalf of ACE.
She thanked the Ministry of Transport and the Road Safety Council for recognising their efforts to secure the safety of the children and employees of the preschool.
Ms Christopher concluded the presentation by appealing to the public to comply with the ten-point programme issued by the Road Safety Council and included in The Royal Gazette yesterday.
She stated that it was the Council's aim to create a safer environment for all road users and encouraged drivers to behave more courteously on the road.
