one round to play on the second day of the Bermuda Women's Amateur Championships yesterday at Riddell's Bay Golf Club.

Griffin, who was tied with fellow American Julie Rivers after both shot 75s in Tuesday's opening round, had a very good round of one-over-par 72 yesterday to move into a commanding position. By contrast, Rivers had a disappointing 79 to slip off the pace.

Local Judithanne Astwood remained in third spot, adding a 79 to her opening round of 76, which leaves her just a stroke behind Rivers. Madeline Joell is eight strokes further back, following her round of 80, which gives her a two-day score of 165.

The top five remain unchanged with German visitor Heidi Winkelvoss shooting an 86 for a total of 165.
