Warner celebrates 20 years at Pembroke Tile and Stone
Lolita Warner has achieved one of those rare milestones 20 years at the same company.Ms Warner joined Pembroke Tile and Stone in 1991 and has been an integral part of the company’s growth from starting life as a shop to the small business empire it is today.Prior to joining the Pembroke Tile and Stone team, she honed her skills at Creative Interiors where the design bug first bit.Holding the position of client representative, Ms Warner has had the opportunity to work with many of Bermuda’s diversified and accomplished architects and designers on a range of commercial and residential projects relationships which have been developed over the years and she is now highly regarded in the design community.Carol and Bill Outerbridge, owners of Pembroke Tile and Stone, said: “Lolita’s dedication and hard work truly define what Pembroke Tile and Stone is all about. We have been honoured to have her on the team for the past two decades and are excited to celebrate her anniversary with the company.”Ms Warner said: “Bermudian architecture is so uniquely beautiful, that it inspires tranquility. My experience working with tiles of different textures and colours has opened up my design perspective and creative eye.“I enjoy working with my husband as we tend to gardening and enhancing the landscape of our Bermuda cottage to complement the structure and integrity of our home. My 20 years at Pembroke Tile and Stone seems as though it just started the other day.“I have learned so much over the years and have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful staff that has worked alongside me since my first day in the office. The team at Pembroke Tile Stone feels like an extension of my family.”Pembroke Tile and Stone’ team comprised solely of Bermudians and spouses of Bermudians, and by sticking close to their roots, Mr and Mrs Outerbridge have been able to help support Bermuda’s economy and community.By offering training and seminars, they have committed the time and development necessary to raise the quality of their local staff. By providing the necessary tools, each employee has been allowed to further their education to grow within the company. This has most recently been seen with the appointment of Kevin Hill as general manager. Mr Hill began his career with Pembroke Tile and Stone in 1998 as the designated bookkeeper and IT specialist. During his 14 years with the company, he has been able to move up the ranks and now holds a senior management position. With 17 full-time employees, including Mr and Mrs Outerbridge, the company has proven that they have what it takes to sustain a profitable and enjoyable work environment in an uncertain and volatile economy. It is this attention to staff and training local talent that has maintained its employees’ loyalty for the past 23 years, as reflected in Ms Warner’s service.
