Robinson double helps Officers grab first win of the season
Prison Officers 4
MR Onions 1
Sammy Robinson grabbed a brace as Prison Officers beat MR Onions for their first win of the season.
But it wasn't enough to lift Officers off the bottom of the table.
Shawn York and Lonario Simmons also grabbed goals while Greg Fraser struck the lone goal for Onions.
In a tight opening first half, Officers had the better of the play and one break resulted in Robinson striking the ball into the roof of the net from 25 yards. Robinson then got his second just before the interval.
In the second half, Officers continued where they left off and got their third when York followed up a rebound that had been pushed onto the bar.
After several substitutions, Onions were awarded a late penalty which Fraser converted.
As Onions pressed forward they conceded a late goal scored by Simmons.
West End United 4
Vasco 0
Francis DeSilva jr. snatched another hat-trick while Eugene Simmons also netted as West End United thrashed high-flying Vasco.
United took the lead in the latter part of the first half, when a strike from DeSilva from the edge of the box managed to find its way into the corner of the net.
They could have been up by two but missed a penalty.
The second half saw Vasco pressing for an equaliser, which they thought they had when they were rewarded a penalty of their own, which was also missed.
With Vasco pushing forward in numbers, West End began to launch counter attacks, which eventually paid off, again with DeSilva at the centre of the action, this time assisting Simmons for the goal.
DeSilva grabbed his second before completing his hat-trick late on.
Tuff Dogs 5
Lobster Pot 0
League leaders Tuff Dogs continued their winning ways when they battered Lobster Pot to remain unbeaten.
Aaron Browne curled a shot around the goalkeeper to give Dogs the lead in the first half before a John Payne header from a corner doubled their lead.
In the second half, Dogs added another through Kenny Outerbridge while Robbie Almeida and Craig Critchlow completed the win in fine fashion.
Valley FC 7
BAA 3
The late Friday night kick-off saw a weakened BAA team given a lesson in both finishing and defending by a hard working and organised Valley.
Inside 20 minutes two defensive mistakes saw Valley take a two-goal lead before Des Johnston pulled one back for BAA with a half volley from the edge of the box.
Valley promptly restored their two-goal advantage with their very next attack when clever wing play by the Valley forward saw him beat two defenders only to be finally upended in the box with the resulting penalty being dispatched.
Valley then added another when more slack defending by BAA allowed a cross-field ball to be slammed in by the unmarked advancing midfielder from the edge of the box.
BAA rallied in the second half and Jim Campbell pulled one back but with BAA pushing forward they were caught out twice on the break to make it 6-2 to Valley.
BAA pulled another goal back with a great run and finish from winger Brian Irvine but their misery was complete when Valley broke away again in the last five minutes and scored a seventh.
Valley's scorers could not be confirmed.
