Woman cyclist airlifted out after crash

A 30-year-old Paget woman was flown overseas after being seriously injured in a crash on Middle Road.

The woman was driving on Middle Road in Devonshire when she was involved in a collision with a truck at 8.20 p.m. She was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with serious head and chest injuries. Last night she was flown overseas for treatment.

The truck driver, a 57-year-old St. George's man, was not injured It is not yet clear what caused the crash and Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Linnell Williams on 295-0011.

Male motorcyclist flown abroad for treatment

A 30-year-old Devonshire man was flown overseas on Tuesday as a result of serious injuries from a crash.

On Monday at 10.20 p.m. Police received a report of a collision on Trimingham Road in Paget involving a truck and a motorcycle. It appears that the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

As a result the motorcycle rider sustained serious head injuries as well as a broken right leg. He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment but was flown overseas to the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for further treatment on Tuesday

The truck driver, a 40 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Oswin Pereira on 295-0011.

Police issue warning about USVI advert space

Police have issued a warning after local residents have been misled into paying for advertising space in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Bermuda Police Service Financial Crime Unit has received complaints from members of the public concerning a company called 'The Island Yellow Pages'. Residents believed they were buying advertisment space in the Bermuda Yellow Pages.

The companies are not affiliated and the Island Yellow Pages are based in the U.S. Virgin Islands and accordingly are not answerable to the laws of Bermuda. Police would like to remind people to find out the identity of any person or company before entering into any type of financial agreement with them.
