I want to be part of set-up, says Foggo

Chris Foggo staked his claim for a regular national team start after grafting a watchful 54 in a losing effort for Bermuda.

The St. George's Cup Match wicketkeeper believes he once again proved he has the ability to play at the international level and wants to be part of national team set-up.

"You always want to keep yourself available for the national squad, that's my dream, to play for my country and to play professional cricket so even though you move on in life this has always been my goal," said Foggo.

"With no more games to be played this year, I'm letting everyone know that I'm ready and available to go and represent my country no matter what.

"If you can keep yourself fit, both physically and mentally, you can see what type of cricket you are playing because you can always elevate your game."

Foggo reckons it was the right time to blood the likes of youngsters Kevon Fubler, Terryn Fray and Jordan DeSilva.

"It is nice to see the youngsters coming in, almost reminds of when I came in," he said. "Having younger guys in the squad is good to see as it gives the older players a chance to share their knowledge with the younger guys.

He added: "As a opener there are shots you can't play and I like to hook and cut, therefore I can come in down the order and I like batting at number five.

"But I'm coming to realise the side may need me to come in a little bit earlier and whatever is asked of me I am willing to do."
