Trainee police motorcyclist and another rider injured in crash
A police motorcyclist was injured after a collision with another rider, it was revealed last night.
Police said the accident happened as several police officers on motorbike training on Wednesday afternoon activated their sirens.
A police spokesman said: “A male motorcyclist was travelling east along Middle Road, Warwick.
“Upon hearing the sirens from police cycles on driver training, headed in the same direction, the motorcyclist, who was attempting to make a right turn into the Warwick Esso Gas Station, instead pulled his vehicle to the left going towards a bus layby.
“One of the police bikes collided with the motorcyclist resulting in both riders suffering leg injuries, which were not considered serious.”
The motorcyclist and the police officer were treated for their injuries at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and discharged.
The police spokesman said the scene of the crash was examined by a traffic collision investigator and a forensics officer and that inquiries into the incident continued.
