Bermuda-based Lancashire Holdings Ltd. has announced that Len Messenger has agreed to join the Lancashire Group as chairman of energy for the company's UK operating subsidiary, Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Ltd.

Mr. Messenger will work closely with Giles Hussey, CEO of Lancashire Marketing Services (Middle East) Ltd., to further develop and implement Lancashire's Asian strategy.

He will be joining Lancashire UK from Zurich Global Energy, where he has worked for 17 years, holding various positions.

Most recently, he served as manager of exploration and production for the London market with special responsibility for the Asia Pacific and Middle East growth strategy for the Zurich group.

Mr. Messenger has 35 years of underwriting experience in the London market and has served on a number of industry committees, including, as chairman of the Joint Rig and Associated Business Committee, chairman of the Energy and Offshore Committee and on the Executive Committee of the IUMI.
