entitled "A Guide to Successful Job Hunting''.

The free publication is being distributed to all fourth and fifth year students at the Island's public and private schools.

A further 500 copies are being sent to the Government Employment Office and others will be distributed through the mobile unit of the Bermuda Library.

The booklet offers several tips to students on how to prepare and act during a job interview, covering points such as what questions they can expect to be asked and what questions they might want to ask themselves.

Students are told to "be yourself'', "dress properly'', "be a good listener'', "be positive'' and "maintain eye contact''.

There is even an item on how to use the right body language and how to interpret the body language of the interviewer.

Ms Gail Henderson, chairman of the committee behind the guide, said: "This booklet was designed for school leavers, but its contents are appropriate for all ages.

"We recognised that there was a need to let these young people know what to expect during an interview, what questions are generally acceptable for them to ask and so on.

"More importantly, the booklet provides them with some insight into what human resource managers expect and look for in applicants.'' The booklet was paid for from sponsorship obtained from several locally-based companies and individuals.
