Donawa is the rabbit

Michael Donawa (pictured) has been given the job of pacemaker in next Friday's KPMG Front Street Mile elite race. The Bermudian, who is the younger brother of Jay Donawa, has been set the task of taking the race field through the halfway mark in under two minutes.
Donawa has a personal best of one minute 49 seconds for the metric half-mile (800m) but will have the added test of maintaining the required pace bearing in mind the tight turn at the Bird Cage on Front Street.
The double turnarounds on the course, and the sometimes harsh weather, have proved enough to prevent any runner collecting the $10,000 bonus for breaking four minutes on the route. The closest was Kenya's Leonard Mucheru in 2002 when he ran 4:02.6.
