Iron-Starr recruits Engrissei from AIG's Bermuda operations
Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. has recruited a leading executive from American International Group's Bermuda operations.
Lawrence Engrissei will become senior vice-president, claims manager of the Bermuda-based specialty lines insurance managing general underwriting agency.
Iron-Starr is a joint venture between Island-based insurer Ironshore and former AIG chairman Maurice (Hank) Greenberg's company CV Starr & Co.
Mr. Engrissei joins Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. from the Bermuda branch of AIG Excess Liability Insurance International Ltd. where he most recently was vice-president and Division Counsel, Financial Lines and Punitive Damages responsible for legal counsel and claims oversight in Bermuda, the US and UK.
He also previously served for more than 15 years as in-house counsel for AIG Excess Liability Insurance as managing attorney and senior litigation/trial attorney in the US.
Previously, Mr. Engrissei was in private legal practice, providing insurance counsel and litigation support for a range of complex civil and criminal matters within the US.
