Breaking News: Police raid Mount Hill home
Armed Police raided a home in Mount Hill, Pembroke today and arrested four people.
Acting Chief Inspector Calvin Smith said the search was conducted after information was received from members of the public.
It was carried out by around 12 officers from the Serious Crime Unit, Firearms Unit, and K9 unit.
“One female and three males are in custody assisting the Police,” he said. However, he declined to explain the nature of the investigation or what offence they were arrested on suspicion of.
Asked what prompted armed officers to be sent to the scene, Acting Chf. Insp. Smith replied: “Specific information. In the times we are living in now, the public and Police force has called out for more robust policing. That’s what you saw today.”
Asked if anything had been seized, he replied: “It’s too early to say. The search is still continuing.”
He confirmed that three out of the four people arrested at the house are residents there. A puppy was seized by the Police from the house, and taken away by dog wardens.
Acting Chf. Insp. Smith said it was suspected to be a purebred pit bull and, as such, contravenes dangerous dog regulations.
The search commenced around 12.30 p.m. and is ongoing at this time.
