It was definitely treat rather than trick for a group of children who had the chance to celebrate Halloween with a train ride.Sixteen children from four months old to three years old all dressed in costume rode on the train which normally takes visitors on tours around Bermuda.The train ride was organised by mother-of-two, Cynthia Kenahan, who thought it would be nice to dress up and spread some Halloween cheer around town.“Since many of the fathers and mothers work in town, many moms and dads lined the streets waving and taking photos,” said Lindsay Kelly whose son Liam, two, was on the train. “One father even dressed up as a pirate to match his son and wife’s costumes.”Costumes included a knight in shining armour, firemen, princesses and a raccoon, among others.She said the ride was a hit with the children, who had a ball waving at locals and tourists.“It was the first time on a train for many of them and they were so excited, they could hardly contain themselves,” she said. “Approximately 60 people were on the train, between kids, babies, moms and nannies.”The route was from St Paul’s Church, on Middle Road, in Paget up Front Street, Queen Street to Church and Court Street. They also did a tour of North Shore Road.“This was Liam’s first time on a train and he couldn’t stop talking about it before we arrived,” she said. “His favourite part was seeing his dad waving to him on the street. He was beside himself! Seeing all the dads and moms lining the streets waving at their children was heart warming. It was fantastic of Cynthia to arrange it. Great idea, both the children and parents loved it.”
