Southampton Rangers skipper Malachi Jones hailed his side's all-round performance on Saturday as the team dismantled Somerset Bridge by 185 runs at Southampton Oval to retain their Western Counties title.
Minus key players Janeiro Tucker, Kwame Tucker and Dion Stovell and late scratch Andrew Raynor, Rangers produced a sterling display with both bat and ball en route to yet another lopsided victory.
"This victory is a testament to our depth at the club," said Jones.
"We were minus some regulars and this just goes to show that without our bigger names we still have match winners in our arsenal.
"We are pleased that we produced the goods on the day."
One player in particular, Shannon Raynor, was in devastating form with the bat as he led the Rangers' charge, smashing a game-high 96 runs.
The team were in a spot of bother when Raynor came to the crease having lost Keith Wainwright (4), Curtis Jackson (5) and Rohaan Simons (14).
He then shared in a brief partnership with skipper Jones (26) before a fifth-wicket stand of 77 with Dwayne Leverock (6) proved to be the turning point in the match.
In his 96, Raynor hit eight fours and eight sixes on his way to a bruising total.
Ryan Belboda (26) also contributed some useful runs.
In reply, Bridge were skittled out for a meagre 57 runs with Donnie Charles (17) and guest player Jordan DeSilva (15) the only batsmen to put up any resistance.
Included in the Bridge innings were four ducks and three players who were dismissed for one.
Jones ripped through the innings along with Belboda, who took three for five and three for 27 respectively.
Traddie Simpson also claimed two wickets for 22 runs while Leverock took one wicket with one ball.
After the match, Jones said that on any given day any number of players could step up for the side, as Raynor proved.
With the league schedule heading towards the business end, the Rangers skipper said he expected his players to continue with the hard work until the final match.
"Shannon is a type of player who seems to like the pressure situations," said Jones.
"When we get off to good starts Shannon doesn't want to bat.
"But when we are down and out Shannon likes the pressure and produces the goods when they are really needed.
"I'm sure we are quite capable of winning the games we have without or starters with the squad we have.
"We only have a few more games to go and I think the current squad can produce three wins in our remaining games to lift the 50-over title as well as Western Counties."
