Gales blow across the Island
Windy weather conditions swept through most of the Island over the weekend with winds reaching 67 knots in Dockyard.
Gales are expected to continue throughout today with occasional showers most of the week with Tuesday seeing the most rainfall.
The Bermuda Weather Service also issued a small craft warning from this morning until tomorrow morning.
The Island was under a gale warning over the weekend with closures at various beaches and the Causeway on Friday night.
Yesterday's worst conditions were predicted to be northwest winds of 35 knots with gusts to 50 knots.
In the early hours of Sunday wind gusts of 45 to 58 knots were reported by Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre at their hilltop site.
Bermuda Maritime Radio has also reported that a number of boats are off their moorings.
The Causeway was closed at midnight on Friday and reopened at 8.15 Saturday morning.
Winds at Commissioner's Point topped out at around 47 knots with a few gusts in excess of 65 knots and even one gust to 75 knots.
The public is being urged to use extreme care and caution if in or around the seas in these areas.
A spokesman for Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said yesterday that it had received at least five reports of boats breaking free from their moorings over the previous 24 hours.
