A Bermudian entertainer is hoping for more work after a guest spot on the popular television show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

Daniel Frith, better known as Uzimon, guest starred in the opening scene of the television programme which airs on Tuesdays on NBC alst Tuesday.

"It was a guest-starring role, and my 'big scene' was the very opening one," he said.

Although he has had a few television performances in the past and a theatre-performing repertoire, Uzimon said this was his first major role in a television programme.

Law and Order Special Victims Unit is a spin off from the long running crime series Law and Order. When asked how he got the role on the show he said: "I have an agent, he submitted me for the audition, and after the audition and a call-back, they made the offer."

He said of his hopes in television for the future: "Just to keep working. That's really all you can hope for in this business."

Uzimon made is mark locally by becoming a spoof rapper, poking fun at everyday occurrences which are showcased in is album 'The Compassionate Gunman' released in 2008. Featured on that album is the popular song 'Nasty Foot Gal'.

When asked about his singing career, Uzimon said: "I wouldn't call it a singing career. It's more of a comedy act with music.

"But we have an album out on iTunes, and are making another one in May. We've been performing all over NYC, and we're getting quite a following, which is nice."

Following his trend of witty comedy, Mr. Frith said he came up with the name Uzimon with the same humorous approach: "It's basically the most ridiculous name we could come up with that somebody could still think was a real artists name. Like, it's a silly name, but someone could still feasibly call themselves that."

The 30-year-old Paget resident said he studied acting at North Carolina School of The Arts and has been performing professionally since the early 2000s before he moved to New York for a better opportunity. "I've been acting professionally for six or seven years.

"I was fortunate enough to make most of my living from acting during those years. Lots of theatre, tours, voice-overs and commercials.

"I am a member of Actor's Equity Association, (union) and am joining SAG (Screen Actors guild). International is where the money is; you can't really make an acting career in Bermuda, sad to say."
