TBI launches new digital files storage service
TeleBermuda International Ltd. (TBI) has launched Global Home Base, a service that will allow customers to store all their digital files within a personal digital vault in the company's data centre in St David's.
The company said the service focuses on meeting the customer's need for a cost effective data storage solution to protect their digital files from accidents, viruses and any threats. Additionally, users can securely share and access these files from any device and from any location.
Global Home Base essentially creates a "Home Base" for a user's digital files including photos, videos, music files, and text or spreadsheet documents. Users can also access their personal digital vault through Internet access.
In a press release, TBI pointed out that "one single incident can erase a lifetime of memories".
"TBI is pleased to once again bring an innovative product to our residents," said TBI president and chief operating officer Gregory Swan. "Global Home Base is a service that supports our residential customer's ever changing digital lifestyle.
"Technology has enhanced our way of life drastically and today we have an over abundance of varying types of digital files ranging from precious family pictures to a library full of music and videos.
"We need to not only ensure that these files are safe at all times but we must have access to our digital world not just from our home but globally as well. TBI ensures that our customers' digital files are not only protected but are accessible and stored within a secure location.
"We are confident that Global Home Base will be an intricate part of our customer's digital world and we are proud that we are the only company in Bermuda to offer a product like this".
Global Home Base also allows file sharing.
The service costs $19.95 per month for 25 GB or $29.95 for 50 GB of storage. The company also offers a 1 GB 30-day free trial service for customers to test the service.
