Assault trial starts today
The trial of a man accused of throwing lighter fluid at two men with the intention of burning them is set to start at Supreme Court this morning.
Kamel Jamel Wendell Trott, 32, is accused of assaulting David Brooks and causing actual bodily harm in Pembroke on two separate occasions during March 2008.
On April 26, he is accused of committing an aggravated burglary at a residence in Euclid Avenue, Pembroke, armed with an imitation firearm, and inflicting actual bodily harm on Mr. Brooks.
On the same date, he is said to have thrown lighter fluid at Mr. Brooks with intent to burn him, and also at another man, Scott Darrell.
Trott, of Kitty's Lane, Hamilton Parish, has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
He is represented by lawyer Richard Horseman, with Crown counsel Brett Webber representing the Department of Public Prosecutions.
