The Human Rights Commission (HRC) is to discuss legislation requiring some Bermudians married to or living with a foreigner to get a licence for the home they own.
A spokesperson said the controversial law and the penalties for non-compliance are on the agenda for their weekly meeting tomorrow.
Licences are needed where foreigners provide financial assistance for the acquisition of property.
The law also forbids mixed-status couple from owning a second home on the Island.
Those who require the $1,375 licence have until June 22 to apply.
The penalties for those in breach of the law are a jail term of up to five years and/or a fine of up to $1 million.
A statement on the legislation is expected from the HRC.
