No injury worries as squad arrive in South Africa

Bermuda national cricket team landed in South Africa this morning (Thursday) with a healthy squad and an even healthier attitude.

The 14 players all reported fit for duty at Heathrow airport in London yesterday, and flew to South Africa with high hopes of shocking Namibia in their Intercontinental Shield clash in less than 10 days' time.

Acting head coach Arnold Manders had been keeping his fingers crossed that there would be no last minute hiccups after all the players were given permission to train with their clubs this past weekend.

All came through unscathed, however, and skipper David Hemp said physio Craig Brown had given the entire squad a clean bill of health.

"Craig said everyone is fine," said Hemp. "There are no late injury concerns, all the players are fine, all are the same as last week.

"No dramas, and everyone is looking forward to getting down to business."

Bermuda are expected to arrive at their training base at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria around 9.30 a.m. local time and will have a gentle work-out after two days of travelling.

They will then spend the next several days putting the final touches to their preparations before flying to Namibia next week.

Squad: D Hemp (capt), S Outerbridge (v-capt), F Crockwell, J Desilva, J Edness, C Foggo, M Jones, S Kelly, J Pitcher, S Raynor, I Romaine, R Steede, R Trott, J West.
