A homeless man in Magistrates' Court yesterday admitted stealing from his godmother's home.

Lorenzo Stovell, 21, of Middletown, stole $2,000 worth of goods after his godmother threw him out of her home.

Crown Counsel Larissa Burgess said Stovell gained access to the house in Orange Hill Road, St. George's, on November 30. He stole a 32in Panasonic TV, an iPod and an iPod docking station.

Fingerprints found on the living room window were traced back to him.

In a Police interview Stovell admitted the burglary and told officers where the goods were, resulting in Police recovering two items from a house in Pembroke.

Stovell told the court yesterday: "At the time I done this I was under the influence of alcohol and was under stress as I was put out of my home.

"I apologise to the courts and would like to apologise to my godma."

The court heard he was living with his godmother until she threw him out and since then he has been sleeping 'rough' and at the homes of friends, his aunt and grandmother.

"I sleep wherever I can lay my head," said Stovell.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner deferred sentencing until February 26 to enable a Social Inquiry Report to be completed.
