Butterfield slips 6%
Butterfield Bank shares fell six percent last week, pulling The Royal Gazette/ Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index lower.
The bank slid eight cents to a new 52-week low of $1.25, as 97,941 shares changed hands.
Butterfield’s preference shares also saw trading activity, but remained unchanged on $1,275 as 104 shares were exchanged.
The most traded share by far was Bermuda Commercial Bank, which saw almost 2.2 million shares exchanged on Thursday, as its share price fell 10 cents, or one percent, to $9.75.
BCB announced on Friday that its shares held by Permanent Investments Ltd. had been transferred to individual investor companies Utilico Ltd, Eclectic Ltd, and RESIMAC Ltd.
Ingot Capital Management continues to hold its shares through Permanent and the beneficial ownership of BCB remains unchanged, the bank added. The transfer was placed through the BSX.
Argus Group Holdings Ltd slipped to its 52-week low of $5.16, after dropping four cents, or 0.8 percent, on the trading of 14,800 shares.
Rival insurer BF&M Ltd rose 10 cents, or 0.7 percent, to $13.85, as 1,200 shares changed hands.
The Index fell 38.8 points, or 3.4 percent, to close the week on 1,137.88.
Volume was just over 2.3 million shares, while turnover totalled just shy of $21.7 million.
