not only for the enjoyment of golfers, but for wildlife as well.

Port Royal Golf Course has joined the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System, a programme designed to help landowners preserve and enhance the environmental quality of their properties.

The effort is coordinated by the Audubon Society of New York State, and the golf programme is sponsored in part by the US Golf Association.

By joining the Cooperative Sanctuary System, Port Royal will be involved in projects that enhance the habitat for wildlife on a golf course and preserve natural resources for the enjoyment of the community.

These projects include placing nesting boxes for bluebirds, using integrated pest-management techniques, conserving water and maintaining food and cover for wildlife.
