Double delight for Lewin and crew
racing in Mangrove Bay, winning the annual match racing on Sunday and then finishing as the high point boat in the Coronation Cup on Monday.
Luck may have played some part at the beginning of Sunday's rergatta, but Lewin nevertheless showed why she is still the world's number one on the women's match racing circuit.
Lewin and her crew overcame frustrating conditions in the morning and quickly capitalised on the stronger afternoon breezes.
Challenger beat Victory in a closely fought final race-off for first place, while Contest finished third, Elizabeth fourth and Port Royal fifth.
Racing for the Coronation Cup resumed on Monday with Challenger finishing the weekend on a high note. A convincing win in the first race and a third place finish in the second made Challenger the high point boat for the day.
Contest , with Martin Mello at the helm, continued to show potential, placing first in the second race.
Fitted dinghy racing continues this Sunday in Hamilton Harbour, hosted by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
