Former C&W Bermuda boss dies in Bahamas at 49
Former Cable & Wireless Bermuda country manager Gregory Jordan has died from natural causes while on a business trip in the Bahamas last week, the company has announced.Mr Jordan, who was 49 and working for the company as a consultant on a project in the Bahamas, served as country manager from September 2008 to March 2010.Mr Jordan was instrumental in the commissioning of its $10 million 1,000-mile undersea fibre optic cable between Bermuda and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands in 2009 providing increased bandwidth and the services and the opening of a new $10 million data centre in 2008 which added badly needed capacity to Bermuda's information technology infrastructure.A statement from Cable & Wireless read: “It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of former Cable & Wireless Bermuda country manager, Mr Gregory Jordan who passed away suddenly while on a business trip in the Bahamas on Monday, January 10, 2010.“Mr Jordan served as the country manager for Cable & Wireless Bermuda from September 2008, through to March 2010. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Cable & Wireless Bermuda management and staff are with the Jordan family.”
