five teams again playing four rounds of league action.

The opening games see Upstarts meeting Wasps and Polecats facing NSC Rebels while dechampions Chameleons have a bye.

Following is a season outlook for each team: Chameleons: A repeat performance seems quite possible for last year's league and cup champions. Chameleons have a skillful team that boasts three of the league's top five goalscorers, including team captain and last season's league MVP, Steve Moreton.

Despite lacking an experienced goalkeeper, Chameleons will be the team to beat.

Polecats: Last season's fourth place team could go one better this season if they can get the commitment they need from a few key players. However, Polecats have a big midfield gap to fill since the departure of Sam Davis.

NSC Rebels: With close second place finishes in both the league and cup competitions behind them, Rebels are looking to the future by using this season as a rebuilding and development year.

Along with incoming captain Manny Faria, there is a renewed emphasis on youth and player development through exposure of several young and new players to playing time in key positions.

In conjunction with a supporting cast of experienced regulars, Rebels should prove harder to beat as the season progresses.

Upstarts: Last season proved to be a struggle for Upstarts. A last place finish characterised their inability to field a competitive side on a consistant basis. However, an improvement on last season is possible now that Alan Gilbertson is available again to provide the leadership that was previously lacking.

Wasps: Wasps finished in the middle of the pack last year after a season of on-again, off-again performances. Despite a heavy reliance on a small group of skilled players and a tendency to play up the middle of the park, Wasps are a formidable team when they come to play.

However, all the scoring ability of Simon Farrington will be needed again this year.
