US Navy patrol boats pay visit to St. George's

Somers Isles came back to the Island last Sunday to drop off a shipment of 128 containers, including five reefers, three boats and numerous bundles of steel and lumber. She sailed with the tide the following morning.

Yesterday morning Oleander sailed for New Jersey, but not before dropping off 202 containers, including 40 reefers, 25 cars, a road paver and a trailer.

The Bermuda Islander will make the return trip to the Island tomorrow bringing 90 containers, including 18 reefers.

The research vessel Endeavor paid the Island a visit on March 29, as part of research being done in nearby waters. She sailed the next day.

Yesterday two, 172-feet long and 370 tonne, US patrol boats, the Whirlwind and the Thunderbolt , were in St. George's for refuelling. They arrived from Norfolk and continued onto Spain the same day.

On Friday the motor yacht Ultima III will stop in St. George's for refuelling as well as little rest and relaxation.

That same day, the cable ship Global Mariner stops at Dockyard to unload cable at the Cable and Wireless depot.

Next Monday the cruise ship Seaborn Pride sails in with an abundance of vacationers en route to Azores.
