The Bermuda Academy of Music presents a unique concert in a unique setting this weekend -- Thomas Moore Celebration.
The open-air concert, followed by dinner, will feature the Bermuda Chamber Choir performing at Tom Moore's Tavern (formerly known as Walsingham) in Hamilton Parish.
Thomas Moore was a famous romantic Irish poet who spent a few years in Bermuda in the early 19th century. He wrote his own tunes for his poems or set them to traditional Irish melodies.
Academy principal and choir director Graham Garton has arranged a number of these songs for female voices specially for the Celebration.
Although tickets for the concert and dinner are sold out, there are still concert-only tickets available for $20.
For more information Mr. Garton at 296-2289.
