Bermuda rivals in showdown
Shawn Goater meet in an important English Second Division match.
Lightbourne's Walsall club trail Goater's Bristol City by just two points after they beat Bristol Rovers 1-0 on Saturday while City lost 3-0 to Watford a week after beating promotion contenders Crewe by the same score. Now Walsall could move ahead of City in the standings.
"Obviously we're away from home and in the last few games we haven't gained the points we would have expected, so it's an important game for us,'' said Goater yesterday.
City slipped from third to seventh in the standings and with teams around them having games in hand they can ill-afford to lose again. Walsall moved up to tenth with their win and could leap another two or three places with another.
"It's important that we make use of this game and get a result so that game in hand will not count,'' said Goater. "Yes, it is going to be a big game.'' When the two players met earlier in the season Lightbourne gave Walsall an early lead before Goater scored twice as City came back to win 4-1.
