Garland, Spurling stay on course for titles

The 54-hole event ends today and two of the three divisions continue to be led by Bermudians, with Chris Garland heading the College Division and Robbie Spurling setting a torrid pace in the boys 14-15 age group with two others -- Michael Sims and Quinton Sherlock in the top five.
Garland shot a three-over-par 75 and leads with a two-day total of 152 in the 18-21 age group from Mike Porterfield of Ohio.
Spurling is nine shots ahead of fellow Bermudian Sims, in the 14-15 age group following yesterday's 75 for a two-day total of 152. Sims shot a 79 yesterday and is on 161.
Sherlock slipped to a 10-over 82 after an opening round score of 77. He finds himself in fourth place after two rounds.
In the boys 16-17 category, Steven Carruthers shot an 84 and is in 12th place after on 167. The leader of the group is Aaron Lewis of Canada, whose 76 yesterday gives him a two-day total of 150.
