leaders St. George's move another step closer to the inevitable.

The east-enders need to win two of their last three matches to be certain of the title. And with two of those matches against lowly teams PHC, tomorrow, and Warwick on the final day of the season, even Stars have resigned themselves to the fact that, barring a miracle, St. George's will not be caught in what is now a one-team race.

If matches go according to form this weekend -- Stars play Willow Cuts away -- it would mean that St. George's can only be caught on strike rate...if they lose their final two matches against Police and Warwick.

There should not be too much doubt over the outcome of their match against PHC tomorrow at White Hill field, while Stars face a tougher match against unpredictable Willow Cuts, also in the west end. A St. George's win and a Stars loss would settle the championship issue.

PHC, in their first season in the Premier Division, are finding it much more competitive than the Commercial League as their one win from 12 matches will show. St. George's, even with a bad performance, should be too strong for PHC.

The issue that looks like going down to the wire is the one regarding the four Camel Cup spots. St. George's have already wrapped up one spot and Stars, with a win over Willow Cuts, could all but seal the second.

Third and fourth-placed Bailey's Bay and Cleveland, who will be officially eliminated from the title race tomorrow with a St. George's victory, are concentrating their efforts on qualifying for next year's Camel Cup. Both have 18 points and will want to stay at least two points ahead of Southampton and Devonshire Rec., in fifth and sixth place.

Bay meet St. David's at Lord's in a repeat of the Eastern Counties Cup final.

Bay fans will no doubt take the opportunity to remind the islanders who now holds the `Holy Grail'.

Bay are also in a position to effectively eliminate St. David's from the Camel Cup race, having already made sure they will not be competing in the Benson and Hedges Champion of Champions competition next year as the Eastern Counties representative.

By the same token, St. David's could be in the mood to spoil Bay's Camel Cup push, for a loss for the visitors would enable Southampton and Devonshire to move level on points.

Cleveland, who have the toughest road with their last two matches against St.

David's and Western Stars, take on Police at Sea Breeze Oval while Southampton Rangers are at home to Flatts and Devonshire Rec entertain Somerset.

Other matches see winless Social Club hosting Warwick at St. John's in a clash of the bottom two teams, while Hamilton Parish take on Somerset Bridge at Wellington Oval.
