Bank job forum a must-see for students
the Bank of Butterfield's Hot Jobs Forum this week.
Tomorrow, December 19, a panel of experts from the e-commerce, international business, financial services and entrepreneurship sectors will tell students what it takes to succeed in Bermuda's job market.
Bank of Butterfield senior vice-president of marketing, Karla Lacy-Minors, said: "The bank, in the past, has had an open house for students during the Christmas holiday and networked with them.
Ms Minors said they researched topics and chose panelists by looking for the growing and prominent job markets on the island.
Forum panelists will be business development manager of Promisant John Narraway, Bank of Butterfield vice-president of Butterfield Asset Management Diane Brewer, Bermuda International Business Association executive director Pat Phillip-Bassett and Small Business Development Corporation general manager William Spriggs.
Ms Minors said: "Each person will give a definitive presentation in the trends, what are growing, what are declining and if they had to chose between two applications, which one.'' Innovative topics will show students how to manage their skills as a commodity, in a discourse taught by John Narraway.
The Bank will offer free resume critiquing services during the forum. If students bring their resume and leave it with bank executives, small corrections and pointers will be edited into the copy.
Students should RSVP by email at student ybntb.bm or telephone the Bank's Human Resources Department at (441) 295-1111, extension 4126 or 3125.
The forum will run from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the National Gallery, City Hall.
