Stock Exchange fall continues
points down from the previous week to 1,303.52. The fall was led by bank sector stocks, which make up most of the index.
The index has fallen about seven percent from an August 21 high of 1,398.
Last week 13 issues traded, six declining, six rising, and one unchanged in value on a volume of 38,346 shares worth $525,293, and bonds worth $2,625.
The biggest gainer was TeleBermuda International which rose $1, or 12 percent in value, to $8.50. The biggest loser was Millennium International which fell 63 cents, or 16 percent, to $3.88, a dip from a 52 week low of $4.
Bank of Bermuda fell $1 to close at $27. The bank's warrants gained 50 cents to close at $5.50. Bank of Butterfield gained 13 cents to close at $14.13.
Bermuda Commercial Bank fell 13 cents to close at $5. Bermuda Home fell 38 cents to close at $9.50. The deposit company's preferred shares gained 38 cents to close at $12.
