Assembly Friday night after their colleague Jim Wooldridge was ordered out.

Mr. Woolridge was ejected after he clashed with Deputy Speaker Walter Lister over criticism of Home Affairs Minister Paula Cox.

Mr. Lister said the Smith's South MP could not criticise the Minister and told him to behave.

But the MP replied that he could criticise anyone but the Queen in the House of Assembly.

The Deputy Speaker said: "Go out, you are one of the senior members around here, out you go until you know how to behave.'' As he left, Mr. Woolridge replied: "I know the rules, I know how to behave.'' The Shadow Works and Engineering Minister had interjected as colleague Michael Dunkley was asking if it was true that the Bermuda Industrial Union was vetting construction industry work permit applications.

Deputy Speaker Lister told him he must substantiate the claim.

But later Home Affairs Minister Paula Cox admitted that it was happening and that she was not ashamed about it.

UBP leader Pam Gordon asked for a clarification from speaker Stanley Lowe when he took over again from Walter Lister.

The opposition had understood that Wooldridge had been barred from the entire evening's session but Mr. Lowe explained that he had merely been asked to stay out until he had calmed down.
